As an animal chiropractor, I am passionate about providing animals with the best care. My main objective at Animal Chiropractic Magic in Hampshire is to help animals maintain optimal musculoskeletal health from youth to old age. I normally treat dogs and horses; however, other animals can benefit from chiropractic treatment as well. I am a fully qualified chiropractor and have been treating people for many years, however, I now focus on animal chiropractic care as I qualified as a veterinary chiropractor in 2018. When working with animals I take my time and never rush as I understand that animals can be very anxious and sensitive, especially when allowing a new person into their personal space.

HOW DO I WORK?
Before proceeding to carry out chiropractic treatment, I always obtain the consent of the animals’ veterinary surgeon, meaning I am equipped with the animals’ medical and treatment history. I observe and video the animal at rest and then again when the animal is moving to ascertain any signs of abnormal movement or lameness. I can also recognise signs of asymmetrical muscle development or damage from injury.
Based on my observations and the veterinary diagnosis, I conduct a gentle physical examination of the spine and limbs, also known as the extremities. I discuss my findings and concerns with the owner and always keep the veterinary surgeon updated at every stage via email. If I have any major concerns about the animal, I will call the veterinary surgeon directly to discuss my findings.
My treatment plan is kept simple and practical, and I will perform a gentle treatment on the same day as the examination, unless you would prefer to schedule a separate date for treatment.
MY APPROACH TO TREATMENT
My treatments usually comprise a combination of spinal adjustments, soft tissue massage, and cold laser treatment as required by the individual animal. These treatments will help reduce inflammation and speed up the healing process of the injured muscles or joints. It is painless, safe, and extremely effective.
Veterinary chiropractic or animal chiropractic treatment can help animals of all ages who are not performing at their best due to injury, or age-related arthritis.
I treat animals 10 days post-surgery to help with the restoration of spinal and extremity flexibility and movement. This process will also help the animal build confidence, as well as the worried owner.
Agility dogs and flyball competitors will also experience improved performance in competitions, as will horses engaged in dressage, show jumping, racing, and polo.
